1. ISAPS National Secretaries are an integral part of ISAPS; from your perspective, what do you see as the most significant aspect of your role?
At the beginning of 2024 I became the ISAPS National Secretary for BiH. Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a big country, but aesthetic surgery has a huge and progressive development both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the rest of Europe. Due to that fact the number of active plastic surgeons is on the constant rise. My role and goals are to increase the number of plastic surgeons who will become the part of ISAPS family, to improve the education of young residents of plastic surgery who will become members of the ISAPS. Moreover, I will insist on the improvement of patients’ safety and legislation which should be stricter when it comes to the safety in plastic surgery procedures.

2. You recently attended the National Secretaries meeting at the ISAPS 2024 Congress in Cartagena. What were the main topics of discussion, and how do you envision their implementation?
The focus was on the ISAPS as a family of plastic surgeons from all over the world, as well as on the new operational procedures in the field of breast augmentation, body contouring, rhinoplasty. Also, there was a special focus on marketing on social media. Moreover, the emphasis on the education of young plastic surgeons through the pre-congress residence symposium was one of the key activities. I believe that the congress was a huge success due to the visits of the numerous plastic surgeons from all over the world, especially that the ideas and opinions of all the surgeons are the same when it comes to following aesthetic principles and procedure safety. Aesthetic surgery is one of the fields of medicine which has been on the rise in the last 30 years and these ISAPS congresses are a great chance to follow all the latest trends in plastic surgery.

3. Will you be attending the ISAPS Olympiad World Congress in Singapore? If so, what do look forward to in terms of the cultural experience? And in terms of the program?
Of course, I have a plan to go to Singapore. This will be a great opportunity to see at one place all my dear colleagues who I cooperate with. In addition, we will be able to see the professional advancement and to communicate with colleagues about cutting age technologies and methods in the period from 2024 to 2025. I am eager to meet the culture of the Far East, especially since Singapore is a country/city to which a person cannot remain indifferent.
