Lip lift
Lip lift
A lip lift is a subtle surgical lift of the lips that is achieved using different techniques. A lip lift involves removing the skin between the upper edge of the lip and the bottom of the nose, shortening the distance between. This shortening exposes more of the inner lip, creating a fuller appearance without the need for injections. Each lift is completely adapted by the surgeon to the goal and the unique structure of the patient's face.
The risk of visible scars during a lip lift is very small due to the place where the incisions are made with this procedure. In fact, the incisions are often hidden along the natural folds of the lower part of the nose, making them almost invisible.
Lip lifts are incredibly popular with younger millennials and Gen Z patients, but may be more appropriate for older patients. As we age, the skin around the lips and cheeks becomes looser, leading to a "long lip". This refers to the elongated appearance of the upper lip which often occurs when looser skin begins to pull the lips down, often resulting in a thinner appearance.
A lip lift procedure can be used in tandem with a facelift or other facial rejuvenation procedures to balance the effect of long lips and achieve outstanding, more youthful results.
