Total body lifting

Removal of excess skin and subcutaneous fatty tissue on all parts of the body, resulting from large weight loss. For this operation, the patient must be well prepared, have a stable weight for the last six months and not suffer from other serious diseases.

Due to the large volume, this operation is usually done in two acts. The first act is significantly larger and includes abdominoplasty or removal of the hanging belly with strengthening of the muscles of the front abdominal wall, removal of excess skin from the hips and back with the shaping of the seat region that gets a flatter contour, as well as reduction of thigh circumference by skin tightening and liposuction. In the same or the next act, brachioplasty or tightening of the upper arms is performed, as well as possible liposuction of the lower legs. In the second act, a few months later, breast correction is performed by reducing excess skin and adding volume with silicone implants if necessary. In the same act, secondary corrections of minor irregularities that remain after the first operation are performed.

The operation is performed under general anesthesia and lasts 6 to 8 hours. The patient usually stays in the hospital for 3 to 4 days, up to a week, if necessary, in order to be under constant medical supervision. In this period, autotransfusion of blood is almost always used due to extensive surgery, as well as the administration of other preparations and powerful antibiotics that are necessary for faster recovery. Sutures are usually removed in two weeks, while elastic corsets are worn for about forty days.
